Plenary Indulgence Available for Centennial of Our Lady of Fatima Apparitions
During the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, the Apostolic Penitentiary* has granted the faithful an opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence.**
This plenary indulgence is granted to the faithful who visit an image of Our Lady of Fatima displayed for public veneration, during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, that is the 13th of each month from May to October, 2017. During that visit, one must participate in any celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary, pray the Our Father, recite the Creed and invoke Our Lady of Fatima.
This same indulgence is granted to those restricted by age, disease or other physical limitations if they are repentant of their sins and have the intention of performing, as soon as possible, the following three conditions. The spiritual actions must take place in front of a small image of Our Lady of Fatima, on the specified days, while offering, with trust to God, their prayers, and pains, or the sacrifices of their own lives.
To obtain the plenary indulgence, the faithful, must ritually perform the following conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Here at Resurrection, we will offer the following opportunity for obtaining this indulgence.
Friday, October 13
Rosary following the 8:30 a.m. Mass / Rosary and Mass at 7:00 p.m.
*part of the Roman Curia responsible for issues related to the forgiveness of sin
